In Salzburg as well as in Oberösterreich are various possibilities to spend your holiday.

In the main city of the Bundesland Salzburg, the city of Salzburg, you can go shopping in the famous Getreidegasse where Mozart was born. The countless museums and buildings are worthwhile visiting. The many music festivals, of which the 'Salzburger Festspiele' is the most famous, are visited every year by many people from the whole world. This year the number of visitors to this festival was larger then ever.

You will enjoy walking in the Salzburgerland. The national park Hohe Tauern is the pre-eminently area for everyone who loves nature and walking. Going from one Alps cottage to the other is a must. It's even possible to earn medals with it. Also for those who like to sport in their vacation, are more than enough possibilities. As everyone knows, the Salzburgerland is an area beloved for wintersports; very well known is for example the Salzburger Sportwelt Amadé. Everywhere in the Salzburgerland you can find splendid routes for cycling.

In Oberösterreich you will find the well-known lakes of Austria. This lake area is called the Salzkammergut. A famous lake, which is partly in the Bundesland Salzburg, is the Wolfgangsee. Don't forget to visit the villages St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang. You can swim in these beautiful lakes and in the surroundings you can also enjoy walking and cycling.
